about
Spay & NeuterIt truly saves lives! By spaying and neutering cats, we can reduce overpopulation in free-roaming cat colonies and lower euthanasia rates at shelters.
Too many animals are losing their lives at animal control agencies throughout the South Bay. It’s a terrible tragedy that does not have to exist. We can all do something about it, by spaying and neutering our pets and by helping neighborhoods organize trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs.
There are low-cost options for spaying and neutering available throughout Southern California. Please refer to our News Page for any upcoming clinics. The Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles (formerly known as Clinico) is a non-profit veterinary clinic with locations in San Pedro, Los Angeles, Mission Hills and SNPLA Mobile Clinic that offers discounted rates for low-income households. Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles has a special program called the Big Meow, offering free spay and neuter services for outdoor/free-roaming cats. For more information go to

The California Spay and Neuter License Plate Fund Inc. and the California Veterinary Medical Board are sponsoring the Pet Lover’s License Plate. It’s available through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
The Pet Lover’s License Plate was created to provide funding for free and low-cost spay and neuter to help cut down on the number of dogs and cats that end up in shelters each year.
The unique plate features original artwork designed and donated by actor, artist and animal lover, Pierce Brosnan. The artwork is of two of the animals adopted by Brosnan and his family – Shilo, their dog, and Angel Baby, their cat.
